Journey to Another World

On a warm afternoon in early October we'll be departing our terran home on a journey to another world. A world of dancing. A world of psytrance. A world of adventure, exploration and art. We hope you'll be joining us.

The event will be taking place in an old-growth forest in the outskirts of Cannon Falls, MN on the grounds of a beautiful mansion and recording studio near the tributary of the cannon river. The gates open at noon and music starts at 1:30 PM.

We'll have an outdoor trance stage and a covered and heated chill stage with lounging space and free body work. As the day turns to night there will be an open fire jam (so bring your props and fuel) around a sixteen foot tall fire effigy, as well as choreographed fire performances.

After that we'll bring the trance inside the mansion and stay warm and dry as we dance the night away; outside a bonfire will continue to burn through the night. Inside, to heat things up even more, we will have sultry performances by Xeno-a-go-go. And if you get tired of dancing you can always fire up the sauna or take a dip in the indoor pool.

When morning comes we will bring things back outside and under the open air. The music will keep going until 3pm on Sunday, so even if you can't make it down Saturday night, consider driving down for a morning and afternoon of dancing on Sunday.

There is some irritating road construction going on at the intersection of Highways 52 and 19 in Cannon Falls. If you're coming from the north you can avoid it by taking this route.

We've been watching the weather and are observing a dwindling chance of rain Saturday afternoon giving way to clear skies over-night and a fine, sunny Sunday morning. In a bid to entice people to brave the potentially damp weather we have decided to lower the door price to only $30. In any case, there's still time to pre-order for the even lower price of $25. And remember: in the unlikely case we experience a torrential downpour we'll simply move the music inside the mansion and continue partying, warm and dry, all night long.

The venue has been revealed: the grounds and mansion of Pachyderm Studio in Cannon Falls, MN! There will be plenty of indoor and covered outdoor spaces to lounge and dance even if we do get some rain.

DJs are lined up. Vendors are confirmed. Sound systems are confirmed. Nothing can stop us now. If you haven't already, go buy some pre-sale tickets. Saves you money and lets us get an idea of how many people to expect.

DAN EFEX - PSYTRANCE

Dan Efex is well known for his ability to draw a frenzied excitement out of even the mellowest of crowds. It is not uncommon to see fans packed shoulder to shoulder, hands in the air, as he leads them through an energetic and intoxicating journey on the dance floor. There are many who consider him to be one of the founders of the Midwests trance scene, a scene that is still strong and growing today. He was one of the first to introduce the Midwest to the soaring build-ups and powerful explosions characteristic of some of his styles of trance.

Aerosis - PSYTRANCE

Aerosis was formed in the summer of 2006 by Goa Trance artists Bobby "Synogen" Ognyanov and Jeremy "Tempestuous G" Green. The two talents convened at a site called ACIDplanet and have been learning production from each other ever since. The first track the two created, Contorsion, is also their first song to be released professionally through Suntrip Records. Contorsion is the 2nd track featured on the Twist Dreams compilation, and we are delighted and honored to be on such a renowned label with such talented artists at the hearth of the duo's formation.

Saeros - Audiognomes, Madison, WI

Saeros began his journey into the psy scene in August of 2005. He has had two personalities in the electronic world. Light and dark coming from the lands of house, techno, trance, and breakcore into the world of goa and psy. Being led by his deep love of classical music and ancient literature, his music tastes show it in the light of how he will expand your heart, and in the darkness by twisting your psyche. He aims to please the dancefloor with his elvish melody. You can often find this fellow in the midst of his fellow gnomes or welcoming newcomers with his kind wit and thoughtful antics. You might see him dancing with a look of joy in the middle of the night to the sounds of his tribe mimbers, wandering down paths with bubble wands or eating watermelons in the sunlight. Saeros is indeed a delightful find. Seek him out and you will be tranceformed.

Optic Mind - Mindoutpsyde, Duluth, MN

Josh Stahnke is a full-time college student at the University of Minnesota-Duluth and has been studying computer science for nearly two years now. Josh quickly went to work spreading Psytrance around his large campus by DJing at small social gatherings and hosting small events in his dorm room. Since then, Josh has begun organizing larger events, utilizing different venues across his campus to introduce a wide variety of students to Psytrance. Even when this young man returns to his family's home in Woodbury, MN, he continues to organize exciting Psytrance events with the support of his parents. Instead of joining forces to combat the evils of the world today, fight racism, sexism, flip off all the homophobes, and such, we instead, decided to form Bankrupt in Panama. Hoping, of course, that through our music, you will be brought peacefully to the *happy place*, where a bright shiny spotlight will fall upon your head and erase all the messed (edited for content) up stuff (also, edited) you believe in. Most simply, we are an improvised rock/jazz/tripped out/bugged out/stoned out/out out/rocked out/blacked out non-conforming group of *motherfornicators*. We create soundscapes that go beyond the jam, bring you to a climax that could rival your best orgasm, make your mother proud, and your children behave; finally, smoothing it out like melted chocolate licked off every inch of your body.

DigitAlchemy - PsyDM

DigitAlchemy is an amalgamation of Trip-hop, Downtempo, IDM, Ambient, Jazz, and House, performed in an all-improvisational setting. Through the wonders of digital synchronization, Aaron Bjerke (Electric & Classical Guitars, Synths, Bass, Loops) and James Ristvedt (LIVE Beat Programming, Sampling, & Production, Loops) have created a new yet familiar sound that is best described as Psychedelic Dance Music, or PsyDM. By combining polar opposite aspects of musical performance (digital looping/organic instrumental improvisation), the band seeks to serve as a musical vehicle for the audience. The journey may take the listener on a happy walk through a pristine landscape, an inquisitive exploration of the mind, or an eerie trip through deep space all in the same set.

Advance tickets have ended. If you haven't bought tickets you will can still buy them at the door for only $30.

Rules

We've got a few simple rules, both to protect ourselves and to protect you. Please follow them!

18+ only. Having minors around makes everything difficult. Don't worry. We'll keep throwing these parties for years.
No glassware. It breaks and gets into everyone's feet which is not cool unless your blood happens to be UV reactive.
Leave No Trace. Unless you're bringing your mother to clean up after you, you'd better do it yourself.
Respect. Respect the venue, respect others and respect yourself.
Camping. You can pitch a tent. We probably won't have room for big camper trailers, though, and there aren't any hookups.
ROAR. Right of Admission Reserved. We reserve the right to refuse admission to anyone.

Venue

Another World will be taking place on the beautiful grounds, and in the fabulous mansion of Pachyderm Studio, approximately one Earth-hour south of the Twin Cities on Highway 52 just outside the city of Cannon Falls.

Surrounded by an old growth forest and a winding creek, there will be tons of space for camping, vending, chill domes, dancing, and even burning a giant effigy! We'll have a partially covered dance floor for the outdoor trance stage, so even if it rains you can dance outside and stay dry.

The mansion itself is amazing. We'll be warm and dry as we dance the night away - that is unless you decide to go swimming in the indoor pool. There's also a sauna and plenty of space to hang out inside.
