Embrace the Light

Embrace the Light is a promotional group dedicated to creating and developing a psytrance community in the Minneapolis area by promoting events focusing on interactive and dynamic art; psychedelic and trance-inducing music; and a culture that is nurturing, healing, and open, while also being challenging, critical, ruthless, and intense. For this reason our events are generally smaller (though not exclusive) and heavy on art, deco, and performance, as well as music. We believe in radical self-expression, self-reliance, and personal responsibility. Our art is how we interact with the world.

Psychedelic Trance

Since long before our ancestors ever learned to write or cipher they practiced techniques of ecstasy. By inducing trance-states the ancients believed that they could commune with divinity, promote self-awareness and enlightenment, and affect reality through magic and sorcery. Thought largely ignored by modern science and religion trance states have played an important role in the development of every society and culture in the world and may hold the key to the untapped potential of the human mind. By utilizing and improving upon ancient trance-inducing technologies that include ritual, hypnosis, visual and auditory driving, and endurance dancing we create brain-states that alter awareness and consciousness allowing us to transcend ourselves and achieve that which would otherwise have seemed impossible.
